The return of Illustration Friday!

Monday, September 21st, 2009

I have sorely missed Illustration Fridays. Finally, here is a new one, although it was for last week. I should be able to get this week’s up on time, though.

Here is “Welcome” (a bit late, which seems to fit the drawing) …

IF, Sept. 18, 2009

Here is a sweet little snailie who is delivering the Welcome Wagon! It may take a little while, but her heart is in the right place.

This week’s word is “Hollow”. I had a hard time coming up with something…then I remembered the Wax Bunny. That’s how my mother and I refer to the first chocolate bunny I can remember. I was probably around 5 and my parents bought me this beautiful chocolate bunny. It was Special. I saved it until we went for an Easter picnic out in the desert. We drove and drove until we found a beautiful Joshua tree to sit under to enjoy our goodies. After lunch, it was finally time to eat the Special chocolate bunny. I was so excited! Well, the first time I remember experiencing disappointment in my life was with that bunny. First of all, it was HOLLOW!!! I couldn’t believe it! It was made of just a thin layer of chocolate and as hollow as a straw inside. Secondly, it tasted like chocolate flavored birthday candles. It was the worst tasting bunny that probably was ever created. After the initial shock, I do remember laughing over it with my family out there in the shade of the Joshua tree.

They still make these things! I see them every year at Easter time, the same yellow and blue eye, promising a tasty treat and really being a cute-shaped lump of wax.

So, for Hollow, I present my Special Wax Bunny.

Illustration Friday, #3…

This was for last week, July 3rd. The word was “Shaky.” This is what I came up with…

Shaky, IF

This little mousie has important work to do. My idea was that he was hanging the stars…or rather, letting them float into place. He could also be taking them down and putting them into the box. Either way, he is in a very shaky situation.

A bit late (by two weeks!) but I wanted to post this anyway.

The word for June 26th was “Worn”. Here is my take on it…

Worn, IF

I guess it’s more like “worn out.” Georgia Rose was who I had in mind for this one.

A dear Internet friend introduced me to Illustration Friday. It’s a kind of art game where a word is posted every Friday here and the participants illustrate the word as they see it. My first entry was 2 weeks ago and the word was “Drifting”. Here is my take on that word…

I missed last week, but will be posting it here anyway.

The new word is up today and I’ll be having to think hard on that one. I’ll let you know when I come up with something. hee hee.
